✱     portrayal.         the portrayal of zoey on this blog is my own. all headcanons, meta posts, etc., are my own, & not anyone else’s. this blog is also canon-compliant, though i am more than happy to go canon divergent!

  • all that being said, i love duplicates ( please follow me!!!! ) i am working on a twin verse for zoey as well as a demon copycat verse.

zoey's parents were from two different worlds. her parents divorced when she was young ─ her mom always wanted structure & discipline, her dad was inconsistent but fun. summers were spent with her mom in seoul, the rest of the year with her dad, going to school with her american peers ( zoey was always the offbeat one, blurting out thoughts ─ labeled too much, too weird, by classmates. )music was her constant. she discovered the sunlight sisters on youtube. she devoured their music ─ she obsessed over their choreography, memorized lyrics, posted covers of their music online. she started writing her own music, filling notebook upon notebook with lyrics.

at 16, while visiting korea for the summer, she saw open auditions for a kpop company. she got in ─ barely ─ but managed to make a strong impression with her raw energy. she moved to seoul full-time shortly after, entering the brutal trainee system. learning choreography was a pain, staying still in vocal classes was a struggle, & she often got scolded for daydreaming or improvising... but she never stopped trying.and then: celine found her. one of her covers of the sunlight sisters' music blew up online ─ a little rough, a little raw. imperfect, but full of feeling. enough to make celine pause ─ she'd found her third. zoey was her final hunter.at eighteen, zoey debuted as the main rapper of huntr/x.
